Josh began playing roller hockey in 2003 at the Chula Vista Roller Skate Land where he played various positions. He was the top scorer of his team and was chosen for the all-star game. In 2004 he switched to ice hockey playing at SDIA. He played in the house league as a left wing but had dreams of someday being a goalie. His goalie aspirations began at age 3 when he would set up a net and wear make-shift pads and wanted Dad to play the “Try to Get It Past Me” game in the back yard. His dream came true in the summer of 2005, and was given the opportunity to play in that one position he wanted so badly; he hasn’t looked back since. Josh is very proud to be playing for the San Diego Ice-Qubs as a goalie. He is extremely fortunate to have developed a good friendship and mentorship with one of his goalie idols Trevor Koenig, where they often exchange stories of their “huge saves and quick gloves.” Some of Josh’s other sports idols include Dominik Hasek and Jesper Parnivik. In addition to ice hockey, Josh enjoys playing golf, tennis, bowling and basketball. To relax he enjoys reading non-fiction books and photography. He is a native Californian and is a GATE student in 5th grade at Clearview Elementary. |
