Head Coach Craig Sterling Coach Sterling has been coaching at SDIA for 7 years and is the head of the coaches in the house program, as well as the Tournament coach for the Squirt teams. Sterling played hockey in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario Canada, studied theory of coaching at the L1 and L2 levels in before traveling south. At San Diego Ice, Coach Sterling has coached 10 championship youth teams in the A and B divisions. He is also proud to be the three time SDIA fishing tournament champion. Craig said when he is not on the ice yelling at Wesley, fishing, playing golf, or hanging out with his buds, he enjoys reading Shakespeare and writing poetry. Contact Craig Sterling

Defense Coach, Scott Forbes Coach Forbes began coaching hockey in Missouri in 1977.  Forbes has coached most levels from Mini-Mites through High School. After leaving Missouri Coach Forbes traveled around the country before setteling in San Diego.  He joined the SDIA rink in 1999.   Forbes coached the MITE QUBS Tournament team in 2003-2004.  Forbes works for a local freight company and like most of our coaches spends a lot of his free time at the rink.  Forbes plays defense for the CHIEFs Men's team at SDIA.  Scott is happily married to Kelly with two children, son Jay playing for the Squirt QUBS and daughter Tisha.

Offense Coach, Tracy DeBerry Coach DeBerry has been playing hockey for 35 years. He started playing Ice hockey back in Connecticut. When he came to California, after taking a few years off to enjoy the sun and surf, he picked up the stick again, this time playing roller hockey, soon thereafter he returned to the Ice again playing at Escondido, Kroc and at SDIA where he currently plays on the division 4 Leafs team. Deberry has coached youth teams in roller and Ice hockey. He is married with 4 children. DeBerry is a soon to be retired lighting contractor (he says he needs more time to play hockey!) When he is not at the rink, Tracy spends his free time traveling, playing hockey and playing paint ball.

Assistaint Coach Guy Williams Coach Williams started coaching in Roller Hockey, coaching the Scorpions mite travel team to championship season. On Ice Williams has coached for five years, including coaching on many championship teams with the San Diego Rangers. Williams is married with three Children, two playing tournament hockey, Brian who plays for the San Diego Ice Cubes and son Matt who plays AA hockey for the LA Hockey Club. Guy spends most of his time at the rink or driving his boys to the rinks. When he is not playing hockey he works for a Cement company and says he enjoys being home with his family, watching sports and working in his yard.

Assistaint Coach, Peter Donovan Coach Donavan has coached youth hockey for three years including working with the San Diego Rangers mite and squirt tournament teams. Donavan also is an active player in the SDIA adult league playing for the Chiefs. Donavan is an electrical engineer, who has been able to travel all around the world working for his company. Coach Donavan, has three children two playing tournament hockey, Cole who plays for the A Cubes and Forest who plays for the AA Rangers. Peter says when he is not playing or coaching hockey he enjoys sailing, wind surfing, hiking and bicycling.
