In the third period Austin Nichols scored giving the Qubs a two goal lead. Then the Pioria team woke up and put the pressure on the Qubs with 12 unanswered shots on goal. The Road Runners tied the game with less that 4 minutes to play, after which the Qubs seemed to run out of gas being unable to move the puck out of their own end. The Road Runners kept the pressure on with the help of some aggressive play in front of (and almost in) the Qubs goal crease. The Qubs were not getting much help from the questionable calls by the ref's which arguably in this close game did affect the outcome. With less that two minutes to play the Road Runners scored to take the lead. The game ended with the Road Runners beating the Qubs three to two which helped earn them a spot in the tournaments championship game where they lost to the San Jose Sharks 3 to 0. Sunday morning the Qubs finished on a high note beating the Phoenix Polar Bears 7 to 0, with 12 Qub players involved in the scoring, goals from 7 different Qub players and assists from 5 more players and a shut out for Qubs goal tender Kano Cook, stopping 14 shots, in this final game of the Qubs 2005/2006 season.
